Local Talent Shines in Round 2 at Eye of Africa

In a thrilling showcase of talent and skill, Peacock Golf's Race to the Sun Round 2 took place at the stunning Eye of Africa golf course, nestled in the south of Johannesburg. The local boys dominated the competition, with Brett Peters emerging as the victor on his home turf.


Brett Peters demonstrated his mastery of the course, securing a remarkable victory with a nett score of 67. Peters' flawless performance showcased his familiarity with the challenging layout of Eye of Africa. Following closely behind was Renato, who delivered an impressive performance with a nett score of 69, highlighting the fierce competition amongst the local contenders. Jarrod Whitaker, another homegrown talent, secured the third spot with a nett score of 71.


The battle for the closest to the pins was fiercely contested, and James Phillips and Greg Blom emerged victorious, each earning themselves a well-deserved R500 pro shop voucher. Meanwhile, Mark Milne claimed the title of the longest drive winner, earning a coveted R500 voucher.


The team competition proved to be a closely contested affair, with only 7 points separating the first and sixth places. The Green Jacket Knights emerged triumphant, securing the top spot and each team member taking home R500 in cash.


As the dust settled, the overall leaderboard saw a shuffle, but Kyle managed to maintain his lead, tied with Mark at 31 points. Brett Peters' stellar win catapulted him into third place with a total of 29 points, earning 25 points for his Round 2 victory.
